    Communication Saves Lives

Bridge the gap with mobile satellite communication

EXPLORER terminals are designed to work anywhere in the world regardless of the magnitude of the devastation. Any nontechnical person can, in few minutes and with no previous training, make all communication devices operational – disregarding location and conditions!

When natural disaster or conflict strikes, communication systems tend to be among the first to collapse. Telephone, cell networks and internet are no longer available. Furthermore, the earthquake or tsunami may isolate the area of disaster – or the disaster may strike in a remote area without any communication infrastructure at all.

    Mission possible

The most important tool in the initial stages of disaster recovery is communications equipment. The ability to act immediately due to real-time communication – from the disaster area can save countless lives and help mitigate some of the worst effects. Using EXPLORER terminals you will automatically bridge the gap between initial incident until communication infrastructure is rebuild or restored.

With satellite communication, the first rescue workers on the scene and the Command & Control Center are able to analyze the situation and assess the extent of catastrophe – and through realtime information sharing swiftly identify the level of aid required. With mobile satellite communication critical decision making and disaster management becomes efficient and potential lifesaving from the first critical moments.

    Global coverage - Global access

EXPLORER terminals utilizing Inmarsat’s worldwide BGAN services offer First Responders improved communication capabilities - critical to supporting disaster management no matter where the incident happens. The EXPLORER BGAN terminals are designed to work beyond traditional wireless networks or when the infrastructure is down – always ready to provide instant and reliable communication.

    Avoid uncertainty and chaos

Any First Responder are with an EXPLORER terminal enabled to both access disaster management tools remotely – as well as transfer large amount of information to and from the place of disaster: names of survivors, addresses for insurance use, building plans to help identify unstable areas, etc.

EXPLORER terminals supports the need for immediate intelligence and overview:

    • Initial size-up for whole disaster / conflict / damage
    • Number of people affected – level of aid required
    • Status for damages: buildings, area- or earth-structures
    • Assess resources, equipment and people involved
    • Assess ’hazards‘ and eventual chances to take
