In the last 10 years it has become more and more widespread to monitor fishings fleets around the world via satellite. Different continents have different specific rules but always the same target in common; to track and monitor fishing vessels.
Thrane & Thrane is the leading provider of satellite terminals for VMS purposes in the world. Since the late nineties Thrane & Thrane has delivered more than 18.000 Inmarsat-C and Mini-C terminals to this market segment.
Throughout the years Thrane & Thrane has strived to develop the products for the VMS market segment dynamically, developing new software and hardware features that will benefit not only the monitoring agency but indeed also the fisherman at sea.
As an example the SAILOR TT-3022D Fishery Transceiver and SAILOR mini-C Transceivers have been used extensively for VMS projects and has provided fishermen around the world the ability to send distress messages from the terminal, an essential functionality which has proven it’s worth for many years now.
To emphasize the unique position of Thrane & Thrane in the VMS segment, we have always seeked to work closely together with the major VMS software providers and integrators in the industry.
